So you desperately want to lose weight but nothing seems to be working for you… It is a fair bet dieting is giving you nothing but frustration, because although it starts out well, after a day or two of completely bland food you simply cannot face another day on the diet. Exercise makes you feel good, but finding the time to work out is almost as difficult as dieting. Here are some quick and easy ways to lose weight that don’t involve bet dieting or hours of gym workouts.
- The first thing to consider when wanting to lose weight without bet dieting is to be aware of your hunger. Think of how many times in a day you eat even though you are not hungry. It is likely that many times a day you eat snacks just to pass the time, or just to be sociable. Just for one day try only eating when you feel really hungry… chances are you will only end up eating two or three times a day. And the best part is that without bet dieting you should be able to lose weight even by eating three meals a day.
- Drinking more water is another way to lose weight without resorting to fad or bet dieting. Most of us don’t drink enough water in a day anyway, and often our hunger pains are actually our body telling us to drink more water. Keep a bottle of water with you wherever you go, and keep drinking from it until it is finished. It helps if you buy yourself an attractive bottle and glass to keep on your desk at work to make it more appealing to use. Water will also take up space in your stomach and can prevent hunger pangs.
- Although protein consumption has been controversial, many people are now saying that for weight loss without the need for bet dieting, make sure you eat protein at every meal. Not only does protein make you feel fuller and mean you don’t have to eat as much food to feel that way, it also maintains muscle mass and helps with fat burning. That does not mean you have to eat steak at every meal – eggs, cheese, nuts and yoghurt are all great sources of protein.
- Plan your meals to be as delicious as possible. There is no point torturing yourself by eating boring and bland chicken breasts when you can spice them up and make them really tasty for almost the same number of calories. In fact spicy food can actually make you feel more satisfied at the end of the meal. So put a bit of thought into making each meal according to your taste, and you will be less likely to feel hungry again soon after eating.
If you have a sweet tooth and crave sweet things during the day, a sugar-free lollypop can be just the thing. It will last for ages and provide you with the sensation of eating even though there is very little substance to it.
So losing weight does not have to be a matter of bet dieting – you can begin to lose weight even without going on a diet by following just some of the above easy ideas.
